To improve your IELTS speaking score, use good examples to extend your answers. Real examples or stories about yourself are the best.
Use examples in part 2 when you need to make your presentation longer. Use them in part 3 to support your opinions.
Here's an example that helps me to extend a part 2 presentation about my mobile phone:
"For example, yesterday I used my phone to call some friends to arrange a get-together this weekend. Some of them didn't answer, so I either left a message in their voicemail or I sent them a text. I also replied to a few emails while I was waiting in a queue at the bank."
HI SIMON,
THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND I'M HAPPY TO SEND MY FIRST COMMENT. IT'S A GREAT PLEASURE TO SEE EVERYDAY YOUR VALUABLE LESSONS.

Hi Simon
In part2, if I got a question like:
Describe a gift that you received.
Can I tell the examiner in this way:
As I never receive any gift from anyone before, I 'hope' to receive...
And then go on to describe the gift?
I have no idea in which way the presentation considered 'turn it into a different topic' instead of 'out of topic'.
Please reply me as soon as possible!
Many thanks!

Hi Simon
Can you please give me an idea on the speaking test? The answers for Part 1 suppose to be simple and short, and for Part 3 should be longer, right? I don't know why it's vice versa when Im having my speaking test today. The examiner just keep asking questions when I not even give my examples yet.
The examiner also keep on 'cut' my speech as if I din't answer what she was asking. If this is the case, will my mark be very low? I'm very worried. Please reply me.
Thanks!

Hi Eun,
Try not to worry. Just wait and see what score you get. Maybe you did better than you think!
