i went for shopping at airport
My bag stolen during shopping
I missed my flight
I am looking for refund

To whom it may concern,

I’m writing to report a mistake that resulted in missing the flight named “xyz” on 10th September, 2012.

Please allow me to elaborate the problem and consequences of it. I was all set to go to New York on the flight “xyz”. Nonetheless, I had missed my flight because of human error made by one of your staff members. Actually I was given a wrong boarding pass and apparently I ended up waiting in the wrong terminal to board. As a result of this, I missed my flight. It was a trip planned long ago to attend my friends Birthday Party. Because of this human error, all of my hotel bookings in New York were gone useless.

My intention in writing this letter is to seek a compensation to embrace my flight ticket fare and other booking expenses as well that incurred. I trust this will be possible as the mistake was purely by your team member.

Expecting a positive reply,

Sudheer

Oh my god! This was the question on 1st of September which the exam I took. I hated this question so much.

dear all,

writing is a continuous process. i think the standard we put in our writing is not the real attitude of native user. to read more the writing from western culture may improve our english. my another piece of advice is to write more in facebook. you can prior inform your friend that you both or all write on different issues thats why you can improve and practice your language skill.

my facebook id is [email protected] (sending message)
my skype id is mdkamalhossain1976.

thanks to all

Hi Simon,

This is the question I got on 1st September in Sydney. I have 2 questions:

1. Does "general test" marking criteria same to "academic test", or it is stricter than academic, same to that of "reading"?

2. For the question you provided above, I am writing things like an old lady was sick and I had to make an emergency call to the hospital and took her to the hospital, thereby missing the flight. Do you think this is what the examiner wants or not? Will I lose marks for this?

Cheers

Hi emily,

You did some mistakes. I couldn't post them here because need a word processor like Microsoft office. If you like send me a message to my email ( [email protected])

Here is a letter based on your thought

Dear Sir,
I am Emily Richardson one of passengers who takes flight regularly with your airline. I am writing regarding the flight on 13 June, No. 713, which supposed to take me from Heathrow to Glasgow. But unfortunately because of the negligence and incompetency of your member of staff, Mr. Charlie Parker, who gave me a wrong boarding card, couldn’t manage to go on holiday.
I did inform someone who in charge asking him to help me in this case. But he did not follow up the case, left me on the flight hall. You can imagine how this problem ruined my two days holiday. This was the occasion that I supposed to be beside my family to run a party for my nephew. A family gathers that could be nicer if I were there.
Now I am asking to refund my tickets’ price, hoping that I can take another flight to see my family as soon as possible. I’d enclosed tickets to this letter. And my telephone number and account number are listed below either.
I am awaiting your prompt reply.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Sir,
I am writing to you to express my dissatisfaction about the poor services of your airline company. I was supposed to travel on 2oth September by flight SV1245 from Riyadh to New Delhi. Unfortunately, I missed the flight because of the negligence and error made by one of Your staff, Mr. Johnson Henry, who issued me a wrong boarding pass.
Following the missing of this flight, I could not attend the seminar on behalf of my hospital. just imagine, how this has spoiled the chances of my promotion and to excell well for my hospital. Even I lost money for a single room, which I booked in Oassis Hotel.
What I am hoping from you that please refund my money for ticket and accomodation.
If you need, I can present the invoices of my purchase. One thing need to do by your company is to give guideliness to all employee to check destination and the gate number of the flight, before issuing a boarding card.
I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Your's faithfully,
S.Hafiz

Dear Sir or Madame,

I am writing this complaint with regard to my grievance caused by your airline company.

On 29 Sep 2012, I missed my flight from London to Istanbul. Although I arrived on time to the boarding gate, i was not allowed to get on the plane because i had been given the wrong boarding card. My name on it was not spelled correctly. As a result, i had to return back to the check-in desk to have it corrected; however, the plane unfortunately took off until i could get it and return back.

Consequently, i was unable to attend a conference where i would see my thesis director teaching in Cairo. Since she is a visiting scholar in University of Cairo for this semestre, that was one of the few oppotunities that we could meet.

I am kindly asking you to provide me with a free ticket from London to Cairo so as to compensate my grievance. Your call in person once you receive my mail is also highly appreciated.

Your faithfully,

Norman Freidschweisz

Dear Simon
Could you please write the essay so that we can get idea from your writing.

Thank You

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing you concerning the flight No.713, which I missed due to a mistake by one of your employee.
I had a business appointment in London, so I bought a ticket to London from your office two days ago. On the flight day the officers from the airport did not let me to check in during the registration because of the error information, as my details from passport didn't corresponde with the details on ticket.
As a result of the fault, I could not manage to get to London and this caused me inconvinense. The thing is that, I should met with my business partners and sign a contract. Thus, for that occasion I ordered business lunch and conference room in the hotel and made deposit in amount of 200 sterling. It is to be mentioned, that as a consequence of the misprinting, I had to postpone our meeting.
Taking into consideration that the problem was caused by your company I hope you will compensate me my expenditures I had done for the tickets and deposit.
Your faithfully,

Hrant Avagyan

Please give some comment for my writing. Thanks

Dear Sir or Madam

I would like to inform you about the mistake that was made by one of your registration officer, when I traveled for a business trip on the 15th of July. Instead of checking in the ticket to New York, your staff was registering the ticket to New Jersey, therefore when I was going to board in to the plane, the immigration officer didn’t allowed me to get on the plane. By the time the registration was revised, the plane had taken off and I missed that early flight.

Due to the accident, I had to purchased another ticket which caused me an additional 200 dollars. I had missed the early session of the meeting, since I arrived in New York at 1.00 PM, where as the meeting started at 10.00 AM and it had an negative impact on my performance to the management.

I would like the Management of the Airline to repay the additional cost that I had spent during that flight, and also please issues an official apologize letter, therefore I can used it as a proper explanation to my superior.

Thanks for your kind attention.

Your sincerely

Darwin

Dear Sir/ Madame

I am writing this letter with regard to miss my plane from Saudi Arabia to Cairo last Friday on TWA airline, flight # 0013 due to a mistake had been done by one of your employees.

Let me explain the situation to you, after 2 hours have been waiting for my flight, unfortunately I found out that I had given the wrong boarding pass by the attendant at the check- in desk and the consequence I missed my flight which has been already taken off.

I was going on a holiday with my wife to celebrate our anniversary for 3 days in Sharm El Shiekh, as a result of the error , I had to purchase another tickets two days later which cost me $500 which meant that missing 2 days of our holiday.

I would like compensation for the flight I had missed and other expenses I had incurred. Therefore, I expect immediate action to be taken on your side to resolve this issue.

Expecting prompt action

Yours faithfully,

Khaled Said

Dear sir or Madam,
I am writing with regard to the flight that I missed last week .

First i want to apologize for any inconvenience caused by me and i am also writing to explain the reason why i missed that flight. The truth is that i woke up later that day and to make it worse there was a traffic jam when i drove in to the airport . Therefore i couldn't be able to catch that flight .

Missing my flight would lead to detrimental effects on my work commitments . I have been asked to meet a client at Germany to help with a product launch and i am going to lose my job if i don't meet him this week .

I would be most grateful if you reserve a seat on behalf of me on the following flight to Germany . I would prefer if it is a business class seat and i will not be reluctant to pay for extra fees . Please address this issue as a matter of urgency, i am running out of time .

Yours faitfully ,
Mark Smith .
