I've used videos from ted.com in my lessons before, but did you know that there is a YouTube channel called TED-Ed which has some great education videos?
Here's one that I found interesting:
Can anyone summarise the content of this video?

[A revolution made by Malcom Mclean 1937]
In last generation, people have not many choices to purchase international products as the transport could only ship limit number of goods one time.
Now we can buy a variety of goods internationally because the trucker- Malcom Mclean brought up a new idea that we can ship all products by a giant container to cargo ships instead of moving goods one by one each time.
This idea [Ideal X ] has succeed!! it shiped 58 wealthy boxes one time.
This innovation save enourmous amount of time, consequently, a prosperous shipping era coming and driving globalization.
Nowadays, we can see that everything everyway.
food .iphone etc..
thank this man :)

In the past, rich people who can afford travelling to any destination in the world only were able to find and taste all kinds of food, but nowadays everything are everywhere.
Malcom Mclan was a 24 years old trucker who was suffering from moving from North Carolina to New Jersy to move his goods by ships; He was fumy from waiting long hours for goods to be hanged into the ship. Instead of his frustration, Innovative idea came up into his mind. What would it be like if his truck placed in the ship so this would save him a lot of time loading and unloading his truck? Then he borrowed money from CitiBank enterprise vice president to build his own container and then the containerization idea has spread around the world due to his effort. This has shrinking our world and enlarging people’s choices
I found many useful vocabulary and good sentences such as :
Containerization
slings
Fumy
It would be evolutional idea
Thriving a global market
Instead of frustration, innovation burst
Smaller portions by air, the most by sea
Shrinking our world, and enlarging people’s choices
Hope this is a good summary
Have a good day all.

In the modern world, even though we may not realize it, countless things are constantly being transported across the globe to allow for the creation and distribution of many of the products we all buy, such as mobile phones. Some products are transported by air, but the great majority are transported by sea.
When transporting things on ships, having to move items from trucks to ships, and then from ships to trucks for distribution was very time consuming and involved a great deal of effort. This also affected people in the business financially, including Malcom McLean. However, one day, this man came up with a revolutionary idea that would eventually simplify the transportation of goods all around the world. He invented ‘containerization’, which allowed transporters to put things in huge containers that could be carried both by trucks and by ships, without having to carry piece by piece separately. His invention required fewer workers and less time consumption and thus increased efficiency in the industry.
Today, the method proposed by this man is the most widely used throughout the world in the transportation of goods.
Hope it's not too long. :)

This short video describes how globalization is achieved in relation to transportation of goods giving us easy access to everything we need from another part of the world.
In the past, it was called a luxury if someone wanted to access on any thing not available in their continent and the reason behind that one has to spend considerable amount of money before they could access desired items. Sea and Air routes were available as major transportation means, but air transport was always expansive. Sea transportation cost was high due to the fact that non-efficient technique was sucking up lot of goods loading and unloading time. The whole idea was changed by a 24 year old guy, Malcom McLean, who was tired of these lengthy routines and came up with a revolutionary idea that changed the shape of the modern sea transportation. He said that instead of loading/unloading each packing of item individually, a complete container containing all the items should be loaded to the ship and transported to the destination without a need of removing items from the container at different stages of transportation. He came up with a new ship design capable of executing his idea in reality and since then it is the most efficient method applied to sea transport industry.
Today in the modern world, whether it is a modern piece of equipment we need or food item, we've access to every desirable product within an affordable price and we don't even realize how we’re able to access everything in affordable price. It is due to model presented to the ship freight industry which is still applied to date.

Summary:
In the past, various food products were available but only wealthy people were able to afford them and it is not the same now. Today, people use iphone but donot realise that each part comes from various countries and gets assembled. This is formaly known as globalisation. Globalisation was found by Malcom mclean, a 24 year old truck driver. In 1937, he trucked cartons for shipping overseas. People were loading and unloading each carton. It took weeks for the cartons to get distributed in the destination. Malcom got an idea to make this system faster. He took loan from citibank and opened his own company. His ideas sounded crazy to many at first. Malcom implemented his idea in the ship called Ideal X by stacking shipments one over the other and it succeded. That began the era of containerization.

Everything is everywhere in the world.
Never taste a fresh cheese.
Too little is known.
Who makes your day?
Out of the frustration, inspiration struck.
How critical they work.

In contemporary society, either significant or less needed things are within the reach of every person from different parts of the world. Unlike in the past, people need to be technically rich in order to take advantage of items, especially the sumptuous and extravagant ones.
Having a grasp on various things was made possible through globalization. This is merely done by importing or exporting of products from one country to other several countries. Some manufactured items are air-freighted but mostly they are shipped.
In 1930s, there was a man named Malcom Maclean. He was a plain truck driver of goods being freighted in some parts of America. Due to his boredom while waiting to fully load and unload the ship with different kinds of items, he came up with a brilliant idea, which turned out the process easier and faster. This was called "containerization", in which Maclean radically designed and invented steel boxes, that were place one on top of the another. Stacks of boxes on the ship were placed, hence, these boxes were also filled with more than the items that were expected to be shipped, safe and secured. That milestone was the start of the container-era, which was adopted by almost countries and resulted to wide variety of options offered to everyone.

HOW CONTAINERIZITION SHAPED THE MODERN WORLD
In the past, various food products were available but only wealthy people were able to afford them and it is not the same now. Today, people use iphone but do not realise that each part comes from various countries and gets assembled such as orange juice in China, fish sauce in Japan, and so on. A man named malcom Mclean who make your days
Now everythings is everywhere
a 24-years old truck drivers named Malcom Mclean change our world shipping to day. Once time,in his journey for his job,he was waiting for loading and unloading goods piece by piece. He feel boring and then fummy. But He turned freak out to revolutional idea. He thinks that why we don't bring the whole truck into the ship that will be saved much time of loading and unloading. And his idea worked.
He rented money from the citibank, built an Company and started to design the product for using on ship. It is call containerization.
He first idead called Ideal X

The video shows the container's history behind the Globalization of products. Its founder was Malcom McLean, a truck driver how one day waiting the turn to pass his cargo into the ship came out with an idea to improve the single box uploading method used for centuries
In 1937 his proposal was invent a way to lift the entirely load of his truck in a one big box named "container". He got a loan with a Bank and at the begining everyone said it woul be a total failure but it was not!
Thanks to his innovation, wich save enormous amounts of time, we can now enjoy from many products world wide and the companies can use better or cheaper components on the manufacturing of its products.

In today's world, it is possible to buy exotic foods from across the globe from the local supermarket. For example, exotic cheeses from European countries are available in food shops in India. This wasn't the case a few generations ago. Only the rich who could afford to travel to other countries at their whim could experience such luxuries. The reason this has changed is a consequence of globalization.
Globalization refers to the free movement of goods between the markets of the world. This process takes place at every moment of everyday and is the driving force behind globalization. These goods are moved across the globe by air but more significantly by ships.
Transportation using ships has been around for many centuries. Why is it that only in recent times that they have made such an impact on the world? This is due to the invention of container ships. The man behind this invention was Malcom McLean.
Malcom Mclean who was a truck driver by profession, bored by the long hours it takes to load and unload cargo to and from ships, came up with the idea of containerization. He wanted to minimize the time taken to load the ships so that he could make more deliveries in a given time and hence earn more. He designed containers that could be lifted straight onto the ship with all the cargo in it. There was no more a need for humans to individually transfer the goods onto the ship. This revolutionized the shipping industry. Large quantities of commodities could be transported in a shorter time and at a cheaper cost.
This practice was quickly implemented around the world. The consequence of this is reflected in the world today. An individual never had so much choice before in terms of commodities. Anything that the heart desires is just a shopping mall's distance away.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE READ THE ABOVE ESSAY AND GIVE ME FEEDBACK? I HAVE MY WRITING TEST TOMORROW. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

Great Invention by Malcom McLean
Loading goods on ships was too much time consuming and laborious. Many people unload it from large trucks and load them on ship and vice verse on the destination. A truck driver named Malcom McLean bored by the process developed the concept of containers. Containerisation helps slash the time spent on putting goods on ships and transporting it to the other corner of the world. Malcom McLean revolutionised the the global transport system.
McLean had difficulty convincing banks to realise his idea. Eventually, the Container era started by his first IdeaX.
In the current globalised world, thanks to McLean's invention, its is fairly easy to assemble a single product whose parts are manufactured in different continents.
