Hi Simon,
I got this topic in speaking part 2,although question were different.I wrote it in the comment area on 06/04/13.Unfortunately I never came through such topic before and got only 6.5.Now I am looking for someone with whom can practice my speaking on Skype. Thanks again for such a wonderful website.

This is a real exam question on 18 the April.
Here is my sample answer

• Now I would like to speak about a library which I used to visit in my childhood. It was situated in my village and set up right in front of secondary school so that more pupils should use the library.

• The library was quite a small with only two rooms: one was for the reception and another for storing books. As the library was so old, it couldn’t offer readers ample conveniences. There was no any room to stay here for reading borrowed books. As well as, most materials were old enough and they had not been updated for a few years. However, one could find huge collection of 1980s and 1990s publishing. Because library had a treasure which included about 3000 books, newspapers and other supplementary papers in variety topics, a reader could look for any item by the catalogue. Or an old librarian women also used to help finding necessary books. Importantly, the library would charge nothing from members.
• I was great fun for reading novels when I was a child. And at that time it was only place I could find wonderful books. I was really keen on looking at book covers and reading novels’ synopsizes whether they were that I wanted to read. In addition, the librarian was my neighbor and polite to me which motivated me to come back again.
• Although the books, I borrowed, were only novels, I benefited them tremendously that broaden my horizons and cultivated my desire in my future education perspective.

Hi Simon,
I got same topic in speaking-2,although question were different.I posted it in the Comment area on 06/04/13.Unfortunately I was not prepared for it and got only 6.5 .Now I am looking for someone interested in speaking practice on skype. Thanks for wonderful website you created.

Let me tell you about a small, but beautiful library that I often use in Richmond.

It is situated in a park and has both an indoor and outdoor area.

It is used by a variety of different people – school pupils, university students, young children and even elderly, retired people who like to sit in the garden reading the newspapers, which are provided free of charge, and chatting/gossiping.

I personally used it when I was a university student to research information but now I tend to use it more for general reading. Last year I went there every day and used their computers while mine was being repaired.
And, I have spent a lot of time there recently revising for this exam.

It has several facilities which include: free internet access, a good selection of fiction and non-fiction books, daily newspapers and a number of specialist magazines. It also organises regular events which include talks, workshops, seminars ….
Oh, and I shouldn´t forget to mention that it has a superb café, which serves excellent, fresh coffee and has possibly the best selection of pastries in town.
For that reason alone I will probably go there after this test.

SORRY, I SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED THAT THIS ANSWER CORRESPONDS TO THE SAME THEME, BUT A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENTLY WORDED QUESTION

Talk about a library you have used.
You should say
-where it is
-who uses it
-how you used it
and say what facilities it offers

Dear All,

Here is my description. Enjoy your weekend!

----------
Today I'd like to talk about the library I used to go when I was in college several years ago.

Since it was a private school, the library was quite small but I think it had all you needed to have a successful life as a student. The facilities included a computer lab, a writing lab, a section with cubicles for self-study, and an area with large tables for group discussions. And if you needed more privacy, they even had small rooms where students could get absolute silence.

There were several reasons why I would go to that library. First, it was right next to my dormitory building, so it only took me a few seconds to get there. Second, before a test, I would go to my favorite spot in the library to study. That spot was in a corner of the third floor and next to a large window where I had a bird's-eye view of the school campus. And third, I would go to the library to do research and find sources of information for my research papers.

Although relatively small, I think this library was quite useful for me because I could find all the necessary materials I needed throughout my school years. I also made use of its writing lab very often because they had people who could take a look at my work and give me feedback. That was particularly helpful since English was still a language I wasn't very familiar with.

All in all, this library played an important part in my life as a college student and I wish I can visit it again some time in the future!

Hi Leo,
Thank you for your comment.I hope to teach IELTS in coming future. In my region(Khorezm, Uzbekistan) IELTS is going to develop because of high demand but experience is still in lack. I want to equip myself with effective IELTS skills with the help of Simon.

Good luck

Today, I am going to talk about Azad Library, where I used to go there every day during my graduation years.
The library was located in the northern part of the city, which was around 10 km from my town. The library had all advanced amenities that a student need for getting a good grades in their courses. It includes 4 reading rooms on the ground floor, 2 post graduate study cubicles, a big area for news papers and magazines and a conference room for bebates and lectures. Apart from it, cds and e-books in pdf form in the computer lab.
There were many reasons why I used to visit the library during my student life. The first was that this was quite near from my place and all the services were free of charge even for students from other colleges. Second was that it was having lot of collection of science generals, and it was of profound interest and knowledge for my project. Comments are welcomed.
All in all, I would say that it was a good place of educational resources and services that helped me to gain what I needed for a successful career.

Hi ZIAUL HUDA,
a short comment on your topic:

during my graduation years??? I think you meant during my education
around 10 km away from my hometown.
advanced amenities is weird ; I think “advanced facilities” would be much better.

that a student needed for..

It includede ...

Apart from that

CDs and EBooks were available in the computer lab.

More usual: first, second,...
The first was that this was??==> First, it was..

Second was that it was having lot of collection of science generals, and it was of profound interest and knowledge for my project.( Not make sense)==>
Second, having a wide range of materials required, made it easy to doing my project.

Last time that I visited to the Great library in the city of ıstanbul was about my research project that was related to the law and order when ı was a law student.

Unfortunatelly, my favourite library was outside of the university campus but very close to the law faculty. Whenever I needed
to study hard, ı would immediately go and applied this library, which is consists of 4 floors with a basement.

Everything was well-prepared and easyly accessable. There was a wide variety of books, newspapers, magazines, scientific materials what you want to.

I was accusstomed to be there always. because I found it very useful. Besides there was no charge for registered students of my university.

Everyone was really restpectful each other. Silence was the golden rule and all of us would stict to this condition. only thing I got annoyed was the controling of my shoulder-bag while I was leaving the library like everyone.

Dear Simon,
Could you give me some ideal about describing an exciting competition?
Thanks!

Library can be seen on our school campus, usually in a place where students can concentrate, less noise and distractions. It has lots of books or references that are very useful especially if we have assignments or examinations. There are librarians who are helping the students find the book they need. Books are also categorized depending on its topic or subject. Library is a quiet, cool, and comfortable place where we can focus and study. I used to go there during my student years because I find it very useful.

hey over there ....i am looking for someone to talk to....want to improve my speaking...if anyone wushes ,please leave your skype adresses..)

Describe a library that you visited? You should say

- where the library was
- what facilities it had
- why you went there
- and explain whether you found the library useful or not.

I visited a library recently after coming to london. Its located in Eastham. It looked small from the outside. to my surprise it was very huge when i got in. There were 2 levels in it. The ground floor itself was big. on one side there were books based on stories with facts and fictions. The other side they had books related to business, sports, encyclopedias and many more. There was also a small seating arrangment made in the entrance of the library, with a number of different daily newspapers and magazines for people to read. The 2nd floor was very interesting because that had stuffs which i was looking for. I basically went for checking if there were any medical books which would be helpful for my career. I had made a list of books with the authors name so it could be easy for me to look for them. I was very glad when i went to the 2nd floor of the library where i found number of medical books and few books which i had in my search list as well. It was very easy for me to locate the books as there was a computer which accurately made me find the location of the book inside the library when i typed the book with the authors name . It was indeed useful for me as the library was located close to where i was living and there were few books i need aswell.

Hi
I went to The Greenwich Library two years ago. this library is small and quiet, and is located in Greenwich Connecticut (EE.UU). there are only two floors in the library, in the first floor you can find everything about information sources of many subjects, so if you need help with something, there are many people can help you to search what you need. The second floor have a lot of books and movies, also you can find in this floor a game space for your kids.

One of my aunts works there, so one day she asked me if I would like to spent the day with her in the library. So I went there and I spent the whole day with her. It was useful for me when I went to the library because at that time I was taking english classes at the Uccon university, and all the books and the employers were useful to practice my skills in english languaje.

Its is a nice library, and have a variety of things to entertain people.
As my aunt works there, my little cousins has many books who helped them with their homeworks.

Well, I want to talk about a community library which isn't far away from where I live. I usually go there to study English and borrow some books for my daughter, as well as, for myself.
It is really a quite small lib and there are only four chairs and tables in the quiet study area.sometimes if I was late for opening time ,I couldn't find out available sites in the quiet study area.
there are lot's kinds of books ,CD, newspapers and whatever, oh, there are also 4 computers available for on-line browsing.and different topic activities should be hold in different month.such as about environmental protection ,water saving and using efficiency and so on.
I think the lib is really useful for me ,not only I can make fully use of the facilities there and learn something new, but also I feel relaxing on my spare time at lib.

Discribe a place other then your home were you like to red and
wirt.

Ambition in life

The best combination librey

Today,I am going to write about a library ?

Let me tell you about a big library. Which I used in my secondary day. The library consist of three floors. The ground floor for newspapers and first floor had general books and maganizes. But second and third floor is not a common floors like other. If we want to go that floor,It will charge per hour.because in that floor there are different kind of books are there like biological and geology etc.and faculty is also available in that floor.there will taught you every thing what u need to get.
I love this place a lot because in this library I had gain lot of knowledge.i used to go there twice time in a day and I will spend my whole day.

How can we help libraries from the stage of extinction
