Dear simon
I got my result yesterday,
Listening :8
Speaking:7
Writing: 6.5
Reading :5.5 !!!!!
Do you think it would be good idea if I apply for remarking my reading skill ?

Hi Simon, thanks for promoting my description!

Hi Sam, applying for re-mark for the reading or listening section is really not a good idea. Here is Simon's advice: http://ielts-simon.com/ielts-help-and-english-pr/2012/07/ielts-advice-asking-for-a-re-mark.html

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Cheers,
Martin

Hello, Simon and everyone. There was a cue card question recently on speaking exam "Describe a rule which was in your school". I just want to share with u this information and maybe obtain some ideas from you.

FROM SIMON:

Here are my suggestions:

1. The big problem is that we don't say "no any" in English.
Just say something like:
There was no room for people to sit and read borrowed books.

2. The problem was the use of "where" and "there" together.
Correction:
I am going to talk about a library where I used to go every day during my student years.

3. Strange use of "accustomed". I'd say:
I went there regularly because I found it really useful.

4. You need to say "one of the biggest libraries."

5. You can't say "I used to went". Also, I prefer "within walking distance".
Correction:
I used to go there when I was a student as it was within walking distance from my campus.

Thank you Simon,
Would you advise of how to use accustomed to? And compared the use of used to?
Thank you...
