Here are my two "details" paragraphs for the question that I started in last week's lesson. Notice that I only mention three of the years, but I make lots of comparisons between the four groups of people.
Fill the gaps to complete my description:
In 1993, around 18% of English 16 to 24-year-olds living _____ London were unemployed, but the figure for those living in the capital was 5% higher, at 22%. Similarly, the overall adult unemployment rate in London, at 14%, was 4% higher than the rate in the rest of England. While levels of joblessness fell significantly over the _____ 10 years, the trend for higher levels in London and among young adults _____.
Young adult unemployment in England rose _____ between 2002 and 2012, from 12% to 21% outside London, and from around 15% to a _____ of 25% in the capital. By contrast, the proportions of all adults without work _____ below 10%, both in London and in the rest of the country.

Hello guys,
What you are reading about British Council IELTS center in Karachi on internet is really correct, avoid them like a plague-they will mark you down by 2 bands from what you deserve.
Also when in doubt always go for EOR.They really are remarking these exams correctly.
Best of luck

Dear Simon,
I'm confused about the details in body 1:
"While levels of joblessness fell significantly over the following 10 years, the trend for higher levels in London and among young adults continued."
Isn't the trend the same for London for the next 10 years?
Posted by: Mon | July 26, 2014 at 10:07
Hi Mon,
What I'm saying is that all 4 lines go down from 1993 to 2002 ("levels of joblessness fell significantly over the following 10 years"). However, there is still higher unemployment among people in London (compared to the rest of the country) and among young adults (compared to all adults).

Dear J and Washington,
Thank you.
I am also in the process of learning and I will be grateful to be able to share my experience.
I forgot my password of my Skype ID. I will inform you once I have got a new one.

Steven

Can anyone explain to me why ' from 18 to 22 ' réults in 5% higher ?
Posted by: LinhNguyen | July 29, 2014 at 13:17
Dear Simon,
May I ask you why the verb use ‘were’ rather than‘was’?
In 1993, around 18% of English 16 to 24-year-olds living _____ London were unemployed...

Hi Simon
your answer includes around 200 words , is it ok ? even 200 words for task 1 ?
Tnx.
