Read the following passage about a study into 'sitting'.
The ease of our modern workday could come at the expense of our longevity. A new study of older women in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine finds that sitting for long stretches of time increases the odds of an untimely death. The more hours women in the study spent sitting at work, driving, lying on the couch watching TV, or engaged in other leisurely pursuits, the greater their odds of dying early from all causes, including heart disease and cancer.
Even women who exercised regularly risked shortening their lifespan if most of their daily hours were sedentary ones. “Even if you are doing the recommended amount of moderate to vigorous exercise, you will still have a higher risk of mortality if you’re spending too many hours sitting,” says Dr. JoAnn Manson, one of the study’s authors.
How much sitting can you safely do in a day? In the study, women who were inactive for 11 or more hours a day fared the worst, facing a 12% increase in premature death, but even lesser amounts of inactive time can cause problems. “Once you’re sitting for more than 6 to 8 hours a day, that’s not likely to be good for you,” Dr. Manson says. You want to avoid prolonged sitting and increase the amount of moderate or vigorous exercise you do each day, she adds.
Are the following statements true, false or not given?
1. The study looked at the effects of sitting on elderly women only.
2. A link was found between hours spent sitting and serious health problems.
3. The warnings about sitting do not apply to people who exercise regularly.
4. Less than 6 hours a day is a safe amount of sitting.

Dear Simon,
I believe you had a great holiday. Thank you so much for your great effort to all the ielts students. I would like to ask you about speaking test.
If we include the medical terms during the part 2 or part 3 speaking test, like hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, etc.(after saying the word, immediately the explanation is followed, for eg. after saying hypertension, which is a condition called high blood pressure), is there any punishment or penalty for our speaking score?
I am preparing for speaking part 2 and I found that I can answer better if I use my past experience. Therefore, I would like to know whether there is any punishment for saying medical terms in the speaking exam.
Thank you so much.

There is no penalty in the test for any vocabulary unless the word is mispronounced or it is the wrong word in that situation.
Of course you should use words that relate to your life and experience.

Hi simon,
How was your holiday?
I have some questions for you. I got really confused, as a native speaker I'm really curious about your answers.
Here are my questions:
1. What games are popular in your country?
2. Do you play any games
3. How do people learn to play games in your country?
4. Do you think it's important for people to play games?
In those questions I'm really confused. What kind of games? Like chess, backgammon or jenga? Is it possible to mention about outdoor activities like football, basketball ?

Explanations:
1. Only is a 100% word. The passage does does not state the study was on older women exclusively.

Hello Simon!
I hope you notice my comment.
I wonder if you could answer these questions.
I just took the Speaking test. When we're saying goodbye after the test, the examiner asked me : 'Why do you have an English accent?'
That's exactly what he said. I'm confused. Was he saying that my accent was weird or was he complementing on my accent because it sounded 'native'?
Also, I did OK in the first 2 parts but screwed up in part 3 since I didn't know what to say. I just beat about the bush without giving any idea. I tried to provide an example but he stopped me. I'm worried.
Would he reduce my score just because of part 3?
Please answer me.
