Here are some very common questions from part 1 of the speaking test. How would you answer them?

Do you live in a house or an apartment?
:: Well, we have been living our own house for a couple of decades. Before that we used to live in an apartment when we had private rental accommodation.

Which is your favorite room in your home? Why?
:: It goes without saying that I am quite passionate about my bedroom. As it is south facing I get sufficient air and sunlight.

Would you change anything about your home? Why / why not?
:: Well, this is something I have not decided yet, but in short I would possibly change if I can add air conditioning.

Would you like to move to a different home in the future?
:: Similarly, I have never thought about it. But I will certainly do if I can shift to the drawing room. This is because I can access to use my computer and watch telly 24/7.

Do you live in a house or an apartment?
Actually, I'm living in my own house, we have been there for five years. It's small but comfortable. We also have friendly neighbours. I love my house very much.

Which is your favourite room in your home? Why?
To be honest, I love my living room the best. We have nothing special there, but that is the place for everyone of us. At the evening, we usually together at the living room, watch some kind of funny film, chat together about the whole day. That's the happiest time of the day for all of us.

Would you change anything about your home? Why / why not?
Well, I don't think I can decide for myself, but if it's possible, I would like to change all the furniture on the living room. You know, it is quite old. And also the TV, I think it will be better with a newer TV for all of us.

Would you like to move to a different home in the future?
To be honest, it's a great place for all of us, so I don't think about a move. You know, we have a nice house, good environment, security place and very friendly neighbours.

hello simon,

Could you help me to figured out a question?
I learnt from other website that they said do not use "very" this word when you speaking even writing. But when I talked with britain or oz, they still use "very" a lot.

So can I use in IELT speaking test?

thank you so much

Wen

FROM SIMON:

I'm afraid I don't have time to check everyone's work. However, I'll look through the answers that people have given, and see if there are any problems. I'll post my answers in next Friday's lesson.

...

Congratulations wijah fatima, and thanks for your positive words!

...

Hi Wen,

It's completely fine and normal to use "very". English speakers use it all the time, so why wouldn't you? Note: you could try to find more interesting alternatives to 'very' for your written essays, but I wouldn't worry about using 'very' in the speaking test.

1. Do you live in a house or an apartment?
I live in a detached-house with five rooms which is located in the rural area.

2. Which is your favourite room in your home? Why?
Well, living room is definitely my favourite space because it is the room where we spend most of our time apart from bedroom. I enjoy watching television with my family members and catch up with each other.

3. Would you change anything about your home? Why / why not?
I will build one more bathroom because there will be more than 30 people in my house during Chinese New Year, then we may not need to queue up for shower again.

3. Would you like to move to a different home in the future?
No. My parents suggested us to move to a larger house but my brother and I opposed to it. This is because we spent our valuable childhood in the house. I think it is a great place with friendly neighbourhood.

Congratulations wijah fatima. Is it possible to share your technique to attain 7band score in reading and writing?my skype id b4uk2004

Hi everyone , I am taking the test on 18 Oct. 2014.
As I can see, everyone is posting their questions.. Does this mean that questions on the test might be repeated from previous tests?
If so, where can I find questions that might be in my test ? I am from the middle East..
Thanks a lot :)

1. I live in an apartment with a living room, 2 bedrooms, small kitchen and with an attached washroom
2. I love my bedroom the most. It's a place where I can relax my mind from my worries of the day.
3. Its a rented apartments and it does look old, it would be nice to repaint the whole place, maybe with bright colors and i would love to purchase new furniture especially for the living room
4. If I have an enough money of my own, i would want to move to a countryside. I love serene places without traffic and away from the daily hassles of life. I want to move to a place of simple living

I live in an apartment with my friends, the unit has 2 rooms with attached washroom and kitchen.

I like the living room the most because after my work i can relax and enjoy my favourite tv series which is already recorded and aside from that this is the time that me and my roommates can have conversation about our day to day activities especially in our job.

It's a rented apartment, since were not allow to touch or change anything but rather inform the landlord. If I have a chance I would like to re decorate the house, new bright colours paint and arrange furnitures.

Yes , I would like to move to my own apartment or independent home. I am working towards my dream so i can have my own house in the near future.

1. I live in an apartment. It has 2 bed & bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen. I moved in to the house 5months ago.

2. My favorite part is the living room. It has enough space for 3 and 2 seats of sofas, a big table and some book selves. It also has a plenty of natural light in daytime and that's a good for rest.

3. Despite of the big living room, the kitchen is small. Unfortunately it is a rented apartment so I can't make it over so I bought a big cupboard to store kitchen stuff.

4. Yes! I would like to move to my own house which has 3beds, 2 bathrooms and a garden. I and my husband are saving some money for it so we expect to buy our house in 5years.

1.Do you live in a house or an apartment?

I live in an apartment located in the city center.

2.Which is your favourite room in your home? Why?

My favorite room is my living room beacuse I spent most of my time in this room. In addition, the bed in my living room is very comfortable and I like to lay in the bed and have a rest.

3.Would you change anything about your home? Why / why not?

Yes, I prepare to decorate my home in the next few months because the facilities equipped are out of fashion and some of them are even out of order.

4.Would you like to move to a different home in the future?

Yes. Because the job site is far away from my home. I have to spent a long of time for commute everyday so I want to move to a new house clost to my work place.

I live in an apartment which has 2 bedroom, one drawing room, a dinning space and a kitchen. It also has 2 wash-rooms and there is no balcony.

My favorite room in my house is drawing room because this is the place where TV and dining table are. I often watch my favorite show while having dinner in the night. Additionally it is the place in the house where we meet, chat and discuss.

My house has all amenities required and I love it. Having said that, I would like to have a proper self or a cupboard to keep my study books. Placing all my books at one place would keep the mess away from study table.

As I live in a rented apartment, I am going to move to a different house someday. I would wish to have a big house with lots of free space where I can develop a garden with flowers and vegetables. I know it would cost me an arm and a leg but I am ready to buckle down for this.

1.I live in a brand new towne house which has 3 cozy bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, and double garage with storage room.

2.My favourite room in my house is whole of basement because there is included medium size bedroom, full bathroom, TV and dining table also there is well protected my privacy in the space.

3.If I possible to change something, I want to renovate a den which is used just storage room, If I decorate there, It will be the forth new cozy room in my house.

4.Later 5-year later, My kids are growing up, so I need larger house with the great back yard.

Hi Simon. I have a question as to the answer for the question "Would you like to move to a different home in the future?".

If I talk about the location where I want to move and its details, is it a wrong answer? For example, my answer is "I would like to move to a house which is located in the central Tokyo because there are a lot of my friends and good restaurants.".
Or should I state only about the house like "I would move to a house which has a big garden.".
One more question. Is this a Yes/No question? I wonder whether I should answer with "yes" or "no". Or can I just start with my answer, "I would ~."?

Thank you

anybody share with me in oct test ple. my test on 25 oct 2014.

i live in a one bed room apartment in the first floor in one of the blocks in the housing compound of the hospital the flat is very tiny there is any room for the kitchen so there is a built in kitchen in the corridor i think the most favorite room to me is my bedroom because i spend most of the time sitting in it because most of the furniture in this room there is also a very nice window that overlooks magnificent garden
i would ask the housing manager to change most of the furniture it is torn out in addition i think that i should buy new carpets because there is any carpet in the floor and it is sometimes cold
no i dont like to do that at all HR offered me a bigger flat than the one that i live in but i refused because this one is very close to the hospital while the bigger one is very far i have to go with the hospital bus

Well,I live in an apartment with one living room, two bedrooms, three toilets,a big kitchen a store and a corridor .The building is a two storey located in the southern part of the city. I moved in January 2016 and will be renewing my rent now.
I like my bedroom most because that is where I have my queite time.it is equally my study room. I had to decorate it to my taste.I have an led television with which I can watch any programme without disturbing anybody.
Yes I am planning to screed and repaint the wall to have a smooth and brighter color.I equally want to change some of the furnitures made of plywood as they have had their surface peeling off.
