Today I'm working on a video lesson about the "describe an activity" topic. You might be asked to describe a hobby, sport or game, so it's a good idea to be ready for this topic.
My approach is to prepare ideas for one sport (e.g. swimming) and one game (e.g. chess). I start with a simple idea, such as "swimming is healthy". Then I search for good words and phrases related to this theme. For example:
"Swimming is healthy" theme:
- keep fit
- get in better shape
- a good cardiovascular workout
- feel refreshed, rejuvenated, invigorated
- gives me an energy boost
Can you think of any more words and phrases for this theme?
healthy competition,
survival skill,
stretch muscles,
relaxing,
burn calories,
balance cholesterol level, ...

I just got my IELTS result;
8.5/8/7/7
I am over the moon now that I have achieved the band I wanted. Phew.
To those beginners, follow Simon advices and read all the sample essays and follow the techniques.
To those who can't achieve 7, try correct your grammars/tenses/subject verb agreement, this is really the part that brought down my writing band. it easily unaware to non-native speakers but once you get your essay corrected at least once, you ll see how horrible (grammar) is your essay.
To Simon, I am blessed to come across your website and perfect my writing techniques, all the chunks of collocations and all. Perfect and smart technique!

Swimming is a great workout because you need to move your whole body against the resistance of the water.
Swimming is a good all-round activity because it:
keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body
builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness
helps maintain a healthy weight, healthy heart and lungs
tones muscles and builds strength
provides an all-over body workout, as nearly all of your muscles are used during swimming.
Swimming has many other benefits including:
being a relaxing and peaceful form of exercise
alleviating stress
improving coordination, balance and posture
improving flexibility
providing good low-impact therapy for some injuries and conditions
providing a pleasant way to cool down on a hot day
being available in many places – you can swim in swimming pools,
beaches, lakes, dams and rivers.
Make sure that the environment you choose to swim in is safe.

My ielts exam was on 27 feb nd i didnt get my exam result today nd an email was sent to mail that due to security nd integrity check result is delayed.I m really afraid plz can u tell me why this happened .......

It depends on what the task card tells you to do. However, you'll probably be able to describe the activity itself, its benefits, when you do it, why you like it etc.

1-swimming is ahealty non expensive type of sports , don't have t spend much mony on it all you need is just a swim suit .
2- most popular sports in the world .

Swimming is a way to remain healthy and fit without spending a lot of money at your gym membership.
You can find a good pool almost anywhere in a community center in an apartment.
It distress, relax the body and mind, in short, it re-energize us.
It a very good cardiovascular exercise, it helps in reducing weight and enhance blood circulation that's why its good for people suffering from arthritis. the best part of it is anyone whether old or young can get benefitted with this.
