Some topics can appear in all 3 parts of the IELTS speaking test. Below you can see an example using the topic of clothing. Have a look at my main tip for each part before you practise answering.
Part 1
1) Are clothes and clothing fashions important to you?
2) What different clothes do you wear for different situations?
3) Do you wear different styles of clothes now compared to 10 years ago?
4) Do you think the clothes we wear say something about who we are?
Part 2
Describe a piece of clothing that you like wearing. You should say
- what the item of clothing is
- where and when you bought it
- when you wear it
- and explain why you like wearing it.
Part 3
1) For which jobs are people required to wear a uniform in your country?
2) Do you think people are treated differently when they are in uniform?
3) What are the advantages of making children wear uniforms for school?
I got into serious situation like this. The test was on Aug 20th. I got speaking 7 before but this time only 6.5. I got frustrated during my test as my interviewer keep asking me repetitive questions ;(

Hello Dear Simon,
Firstly many thanks for your videos, ideas, the supporting writting simples which helps me more and more about Ielts preparation. I have a question and need your help actually. I didnt take any english course and improved my english by myself, and i know it is not quiet good. However i am working in it everyday. So, I am planning to take The Ielts exam on middle of December, but my i need somebody to check my writting tasks 2.If this "somebody" can be you, that will make me soo happy and I can feel myself in good hands.I thought that I can write tasks and can send you by mail and you can check it and send me back with feedback. I can share over here in comments if you give me permission. I am reeady to pay money for that because time is going up soon, only 2 months left. Please let me know what you are thinking about this and really appreciate it if you agree. Many Thanks in advance )

I hope to get your advice, Simon. Thank a lot
Part 1:
1) Are clothes and clothing fashions important to you?
Oh, not really, clothes and fashions are not so important to me. I tend to wear clothes that are comfortable and practical rather than fashionable.
2) What different clothes do you wear for different situations?
In some formal situations like in meetings or at work, I prefer to wear shirts and long trousers or long dresses and even “ao-dai” the traditional dress of Vietnam. If it’s just a casual occasion, I would like to wear T-shirts and jeans.
3) Do you wear different styles of clothes now compared to 10 years ago?
Yes, I guess so. In the past people wore simple things like shirts and trousers whereas nowadays, their fashion styles are very diverse. For example, young people quickly keep updated with clothing styles from South Korea, Western countries or America.
4) Do you think the clothes we wear say something about who we are?
Yes, I suppose so. Your dressing may express your characteristics in some way. For instance, I am a simple person with casual and simple clothing items that can fit most of the situations.

Simon or some who already know the answer. I have a question. Please answer me.
I'm not able to manage time during my speaking part 2. Is it okay if I talk about last question first, after main explanations, since it is the most crucial question.
