My name is Simon Corcoran. I used to be an IELTS examiner, and I have taught IELTS and academic English classes for close to 20 years.
I decided to focus on IELTS teaching when I realised how important this exam was in the lives of my students. I believe that a good teacher can make a huge difference in helping students to prepare for the exam effectively. I am constantly refining my teaching, and put a lot of my ideas and materials on my daily blog, ielts-simon.com.
I worked at the University of Manchester for 5 years, and left in April 2010 to spend more time running my own English courses and working on web-based projects. When I'm not teaching or blogging, you can probably find me drinking coffee somewhere on Oxford road.
